What I am brilliant at

I like this question, so I won't change it. I love taking photos. Thats one thing I know fine well Im good at. That and fitting into any crowd of people, anywhere in the world and being comfortable and confident in the fact that I know I have the personality to pull me through. Language barriers? Psht, everyone understands the language of dance! Haha. I also have a passion for making people laugh, its the most satisfying feeling in the world.

What I'd like to change about myself

Why Shipwrecked

I love shipwrecked, Ive watched it since series 1 and always thought - 'My god that'd be so cool, and so me..'. Being a nature-child (not in a 'hippy' way..i just mean, as a kid i spent most of my time in forests chasing small animals.), it's something I'd be perfect at.

Who Am I?

So, you're probably wondering who I am and why I'd actually be SUITABLE for the island life. Hopefully this will start to explain, and better inform you. Im Grant Thistle. 18 years old, freelance photographer and photography student. Been studying that for two years now. I left school a year early because I was struggling to relate to the people there my age. There was a maturity gap, a noticeable one. College is a much better learning environment for me, and Im glad I made the decision to go against so many peoples 'better judgement' and do it. Not to say that I don't take in people's opinions. I work well in a team, but do tend to like things done my own way. I've watched enough Ray Mears on the discovery channel to know how to build a good shelter, thats for sure! Im an easy person to get on with, I dont like conflict and certainly dont try to instigate it. If I accidently rile someone up, I sort it out. I say what Im thinking and don't really beat about the bush. Sometimes it lands me in trouble, but at least Im telling the truth. Im a laid back, easy going, fun, confident guy with the right frame of mind for island life. The money prize means nothing to me, its the time on the island in the climate and with the people thats the prize. I'd feel like a winner from day one, regardless of the outcome on the final day. I'd make every day count for something, and always inspire some good activity to keep everyone energised and happy. I do parkour in my spare time, I've been training for 3 and a half years now. I wouldn't want my training to slip, so I'd have to find something on the island to do with my energy, if that can involve or benefit the other people then all the better. I dont care about cameras, publicity, getting drunk or being on an island with lots of pretty girls. I care about the experience and what I know it would mean to me. Im a bit off the dial, I like things that other people don't, and don't like the things other people do. I don't drink or experiment with drugs any more, if that makes me 'straight edge' then whatever. I prefer calling it being sensible. I prefer to draw, or go for a big long 35 mile hike. Or a good swim. I used to be a lifeguard - another skill of mine which would be handy on the island. hopefully it'd never have to be utilized, but hey.. its there! so yeah..I've rambled some haha. I should stop.. Informed decisions are always better though.
