Islandoo

1. Why haven’t I received an email to validate my email address?

If you haven't received your email verification, check your junk mail folder in case the email has been classified as spam.

2. What does 'become a fan' mean?

Becoming a fan means you like a fellow islandooer.

3. Should I upload video or photo?

It is up to you. If you really want our opinion, video gives better impression of what you are like.

4. What format does the video I upload need to be in?

The video can be in most major formats, including Quicktime, Real or WMV. We restrict video to 90 seconds, so keep it snappy. (Please note: we are currently having trouble with Windows Media 10 so it may be best to avoid that.)

5. Can I upload other people's video to Islandoo?

Make sure that the video you choose to upload does not infringe copyright laws. Play fair - don't pirate other people’s footage, otherwise we'll have to make you walk the plank. We won't audition anyone whose video contains copyright footage.

6. How do I edit my personal details?

Once you have registered with Islandoo, if you need to alter your personal details you will need to log into your account. Once you are logged in, you will see a link that says "Edit account details". Here you will be able to change your date of birth, gender, name, and contact phone number.

7. Why can't I edit my username?

Your username is unique to you. It is the primary way that other islanders identify you. You cannot change your user name once you have registered with Islandoo.

8. Why can't I edit my password or email address?

At the moment, Islandoo does not have a facility for you to change your email address or password. We hope to have this sorted soon. In extreme cases, email beach@islandoo.com and we can change it for you.

9. I forgot my username/password, what do I do?

If you have forgotten your username or password, a password reminder can be sent to your email address.

10. Why can't I edit my profile?

First, make sure you have verified your email address and have logged in. Once you have done this, if you still can't edit your profile, JavaScript may not be enabled on your computer.

If it is not turned on, you will not be able to use Islandoo properly. You may find these instructions on turning JavaScript on helpful.

11. Why's my profile been removed?

It will probably be because we feel you've broken the terms of use.

Often it will be because we feel photos or video connected with your profile contain unacceptable nudity, violent or offensive material, or copyrighted images or sounds.

12. Who runs Islandoo?

Islandoo is jointly run by RDF Media and Mint Digital. RDF Media make Shipwrecked. Mint Digital built and run the site.

13. Can I advertise on Islandoo?

14. My question isn't answered
