no, people tend to try and take the emotional blackmail route and say dealing in the lives of others/misery/etc. :) I'm in the TA too, which now makes me sound like some kind of gun obsessed freak similar to micheal ryan. but i'm not. i don't live in hungerford.

yea things aren't bad, the 1 thing u av in yr favor is the fact yr female, they r tryin 2 get more females in2 trades plumbing etc! Like i say if u get wit a company or local council they pay yr college fees for u as well pay u 4 workin 4 them! Where abouts u lukin 2 move to?

My advice would be to go to your closest construction college and enroll on a technical skills Plumbing course, thats what I did and that is what helped me to get the job I have now! The problem is most companies descriminate against age, I was nearly 25 when I finally managed to get with who i'm with now! They tend to want school leavers as they don't have to pay them a lot of money! It took me 3 years to get with my local council, if I was you thats who I would go for, they don't descriminate against age. I've got a m8 who's a plumbing apprentice and he's 34. If you do the techical skills plumbing course your already half way there to being a plumber, the only thing left to do is get a job and do your on site work portfolio! More than likely they will then fast track you cause you have all the knowledge, u'll get things done alot quicker! And the company dont have to pay for you to do the technical skills course cause you already have it! You don't have to pay for the course either, if you are unemployed and signing on at the job centre, the college let you do it for free! Doing that course makes you more attractive to the employer, they can see you've put yourself throught college to try and learn, it will stand you in good stead! All I can say is don't give up, there were many times I felt like throwing in the towel! I even nearly became a plasterer I have all the tools and everything, altho working for a council the size it is you do learn other trades, i can plaster aswell as other things! We have 33,000 houses to look after! While your doing the technical skills plumbing course theres nothing to stop you getting a plumbing job or even a labouring on site as this opens doors! erm the M+D's is apparently the largest theme park in Scotland...i think! lol, its beside a massive lake think in a place called Strathclyde Park, just about 20 miles from glasgow! yeah, its baltic here today! i really do think its gonna snow! it was snowing in edinburgh a couple of weeks ago! haha! xx
yeah, just went to the M+D's themepark, only 20 mins drive from me! :-) it was great, really hot sunny day as well, hotter than some summer days! haha!
I just got a phonecall from a guy at work asking if i would cover a 1-10 shift tomorrow, i said no! wish i hadnt! :-( damn! xx
olbas has a charming aroma, what's the problem? having no job sucks, but only because that tends to lead to having no money (unless you're the queen). if i could get away with not working then i would be happy as larry.
aww, hope that cold clears up soon! :-) yeah, im going to need to take more hours at work and look for another job, i cant stand living with my dad for much longer! its so stressful! Grrr! apart from that, im great, had a great day at the theme park, couldnt stop going on one of the rollercoasters, it has that many loops and corkscrew bits that i couldnt stop laughing, my legs were flying everywhere! haha! :-) xx
