Hello

Id like to inform the Guardian (media) feature article writer about a new development in the youth public domain.

The independant (see web link) talks about the fastest growing internet community website islandoo where it was set up to recruit 11 new islanders for the reality tv show shipwrecked. However, its based on a lie. Call it a money making scheme of creator RDF Media/ Mint digital.

The website has been created to secure high audience figures of the show. Having been through the actual audition process myself i can see this now. I spoke to 'a plant' in my audition that had been auditioned during the summer and asked to 'attend the website audition'. Therefore, the people were all selected prior to this 'fake web audition process'

I spoke with Benvolio (shipwrecked 2007 reality tv cast member) in a nightclub, the day before he was flying out to the island in October. I asked how he did at his web audition. his reply, 'it didnt matter i was always going anyway' ...'dont you know the web audition are fake'

I felt disgusted as i know how many people payed to travel from ireland/ wales/ scotland. myself £150! and for what. a dream that was never going to be made a reality.

Furthermore, the people that have been addicted to the site for months in the hope of getting picked for tv stardom have looked at the cast line up (announced today friday) and we are seeing people with little or no profile/ fans (in order to be called to audition) / or comments. showing its been rushed and probably put together by a producer!

I just feel the public have the right to know reality tv has stooped to a new low. and the expense of the teen market that secures the most audience share.

Cheated. Cheated and cheated.
