I'm going to be a writer. In the meantime I find pretty things and take photos that don't generally turn out to be any good.

Tell a story:

In my second year at uni I sat next to a lad called Luke who I'd been eyeing up all of the last year. Very excited about sitting next to him I started casually leafing through my work, before nonchalantly turning to him and asking, 'Did you go out last night?'. He ignored me. Frustrated, I asked again. He ignored me. Angry now at his arrogance I turned away and ignored him right back for the rest of the lesson. When it ended I abruptly gathered my things and walked out. My friend jumped up and followed me. 'What's up with you?' he asked. 'Usually you wait for me to walk home with.' I turned and said 'That arrogant git Luke just ignored everything I said to him. Just because he's good looking he can't be bothered to talk to me! oh, it makes me so angry!' To which my friend replied, 'Amanda, he's deaf.'

Lying in the sun on the beach with friends, listening to the sea. Too transparant? OK, it's curled up in a comfy chair listening to the rain outside in front of a fire reading a book. Go on, take me out of my element! I dare you!

Why do you want to take part?

Honestly? Because my life is so normal. I've never done anything more exciting than go to Mallorca every summer on a family holiday. I want to do something I can tell my grandchildren about. I'm tired of England. I want to go somewhere beautiful and have a chance to be remembered.
